Lunar Rendezvous

Moon (Waxing Gibbous phase) above i75 Highway, Everglades

This artwork is created through multiple exposures of three main elements captured at the same location within a few minutes of difference.

First, I shot the sunset in the background to blend it later with the above dark-blue starry sky. After that, several shots of the Moon were merged into a single Hybrid-HDR (High Dynamic Range) image to accurately render the hidden color hues of our Earth's natural satellite. These images were captured using a lens compression technique, which makes the Moon appear bigger than it looks to the naked eye.

Then, the highway image was captured using a long-exposure technique to grasp the passing vehicles' light-trials.

The final composition aims to spark curiosity about the entire scene by reminding us that we are a part of a whole universe.

Sometimes we focus only on just a few elements of our environment. Yet, at the same time, we forget to appreciate the beauty of everything else around our journey.
